Job Description

Relay is seeking talented senior software engineer with solid experience building complex GWT-based web applications

Relay is offering an early-stage opportunity to define and build a world-class platform for use in the drug discovery industry.  The platform enables researchers and business development executives to identify promising therapeutic assets and drug targets.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build a scalable web application on top of The Relay Innovation Engine platform
  • Develop user interfaces from complex wireframes visual prototypes to finished products
  • Work with visual designers to help define and implement innovative user experiences
  • Work with senior management and consultants to define new requirements for rapidly growing customer base
  • Develop proof-of-concept examples to demonstrate value proposition
  • On-time delivery of high-quality code
Requirements:
  • BS in Computer Science; MS a plus
  • 5-10 years programming experience
  • Prior experience in early-stage company with strong desire to work in dynamic company with explosive growth
  • Significant Java development experience using GWT
  • Expert knowledge of DHTML, XML, XML parsing, JavaScript, CSS, XSL, XSLT and web 2.0 technologies
  • Working knowledge of SQL query language and SQL data schemas
  • Successful at working relationships with cross-functional teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Pluses
  • Experience with enterprise search technologies Lucene & Solr
  • Familiar with Attivio UI application API
  • Biopharma industry knowledge
  • Usability studies
  • Interest and ability in information architecture
  • Knowledge of data mining, MeSH and PERL
